This area marks the central sector of the fortress, where primary Crusader buildings were located. Arrival here is via the final stairway, originally covered by a stone vault. At the start of the ramp, a small rock-cut cistern provided drinking water for guards. At the upper end, a bench-lined space likely functioned as a guardroom controlling access.
From this point, the route divides:
Trail 1 → Main Tower and Petra Panorama
Trail 2 → East Tower and Northern Quarter
Safety Notice:
No access beyond the barrier along the ridge. Unmarked stairs and unstable edges present severe fall hazards. Follow marked trails only.
